Those of you who know me, will agree that I’m a creative person. If you have a problem, ask me, I’ll come up with a funny solution. Recently I gave a bottle of bubble fluid to a friend who has an issue with time management. It seems like a silly solution, but you can rest assure that every time she takes a look at the bottle she’ll remember what I said. When in stress… go blow bubbles to let go of all the thoughts in your mind. It’s very effective. Those of you who really know me well, will agree that I’m no Jamie Olliver. Cooking is not my thing.
I’ll start with a recipe with all the good intentions, not bothered by the grocery list that is given in the book. As I go along I discover that I don’t have all the necessary items and I’ll come up with a creative solution, as I always do. Disaster guaranteed. The meal will taste awful. I may have made funny remarks about my boyfriend weighing all the meat that goes into each meatball… The result of him doing that is, perfectly formed and delicious meatballs.
One of the reasons my attempts to cook fail is my impatience and lack of focus and passion for cooking. I read an article from my colleague ambassador who compares having joy in your life with cooking.
Kevin Przystup says:
Joy isn’t something that you instantly create; there’s no microwave that heats it up, ready to be served. Life is simple if we allow it to be simple. In order to experience joy, you need to know it takes time and preparation.
Select your ingredients wisely and you will experience the meal of a life time. Don’t stop once your meal is made. Set the table, invite folks to taste your creation, and celebrate!
Food has an amazing way of celebrating life. It nourishes the soul, feeds the mind and fills the heart. Start cooking… the world is waiting to taste your greatness.
Experiencing joy is something I’m rather good at, experiencing joy in cooking is a different story. I’ll follow Kevin’s advice and start a project in combining joy and cooking. I’ll keep you posted. Until that time… Have a tasty life!
Such synchronicity! I was publishing a J❤️y article at the same time as you! Feeling this fills my heart with such warmth. Today, let us celebrate OUR taste for life. Continue to feed the senses and nourish the soul Ernestine. The world needs more you. Enj❤️y the day, my friend. (Kevin from the United States)
